This is the last photograph I’ll be posting to Instagram for a while. Instead I want to post new work here. Exclusively.
This was the scene yesterday as I arrived at a flat in Sutton I’d previously photographed for an Estate Agent. This bleak scene brought back memories of the miserableness of long covid, of deeply dark moods when reflecting on mistakes, missed opportunities and wavering confidence.
But once the blinds were all open and the light came in it was easy enough to clear my head and get on with the task at hand.
In an effort to make more of this blog and to escape the pull of instagram, I’ll be showing new work here and talking a bit about why I make certain pictures. All this will lead up to my first tutorial demonstration in a couple of weeks. This will have to be behind a paywall. Future demos and tutorials will also go behind a paywall. Subscribers get the Passerby zines sent to them and access to the tutorials and demonstrations.
Subscriptions can be monthly or annually. So if, for example, you know there’s a tutorial coming up that is of interest, then subscribe for a month and you can see the tutorial.
I hope to take my tutorials on the road eventually or pair up with street photography workshops where the material made during a workshop can be turned into a zine or lay-flat book.
Just a note to say that any purchasers of my zines, prints and books will be added to my mailing list. I hope this is okay. It’s easy to unsubscribe.
Thank you for your time.
Back soon.
